Happy Mother`s Day from us at Gateway Mission!
Today we pray for the Mothers at our Women`s Center and in our Forge and Thrive Programs. We give thanks for their desire to change not only their future, but their children`s future by God`s grace!
Although this day can be difficult for many – those who have lost mothers, for those who have lost children, and for those who desire to be mothers, we give thanks to God for his overwhelming faithfulness! 💜
Psalm 139:13-14: "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother`s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well."

On May 18, we are in need of several volunteers to help sort food that is donated through the Stamp Out Hunger Initiative. The food that is donated often covers MONTHS of meals provided at Gateway Mission, The Salvation Army, Community Action House, and Resilience.

Exciting weekend! We had an excellent time at our inaugural Tulip City Open! A special thank to our 259 participants for joining us at our first pickleball tournament. We are looking forward to next year`s event already.

Last year our 1000+ volunteers donated 21,224 hours of their time. That is equal to 10 staff members! We are so blessed to have incredible volunteers who love and serve with their entire hearts.

April is National Volunteer Month! We truly would not be able to do what we do without our faithful and generous volunteers. Last year volunteers provided over 21,000 volunteer hours. During morning devotions this morning at the Gateway Women and Children’s Center, staff read the story of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. 14 women and 2 teenagers heard the good news from the book of Matthew.
Our guests were very attentive to hearing the Easter story. It was a reminder of why we do what we do even when times are hard at the shelter. Our staff are committed to spreading the good news of the gospel to everyone who comes to the Gateway Women and Children’s Center.
